Why Community Matters in Memory Care and Assisted Living

For more than a year, Meadowview of Johnston has been partnering with a local community center to help serve noon meals a couple of times each month. What started as a simple way to give back has grown into something much more meaningful.

Since then, our team has found all kinds of ways to stay involved. We’ve called Bingo, invited residents to join in with the community, stepped in to provide holiday meals, prepared to-go meals, donated prizes, and helped wherever there was a need.

What stands out most isn’t any one activity—it’s how our team shows up.

Every department has played a part. No one stopped to ask, “Is this my job?” Instead, the question has always been, “How can I help?” That mindset reflects who we are as a community.

It’s the same approach we bring to our work every day, whether someone is visiting our assisted living community, or looking for a trusted memory care community for a loved one. Our goal is always to show up with care, flexibility, and a willingness to step in wherever needed.

That matters in every setting, where teamwork and compassion help create a supportive, connected environment.

Because at the end of the day, integrity isn’t just something we talk about. It’s something we live—one action, one moment, and one helping hand at a time.
